CIRCUIT COURT - DIVISION 9
To ensure cases are getting prompt attention, Judge Clay requests parties awaiting a decision file a form AOC-280.
Criminal Cases
Criminal defendants must be present in-person for all criminal matters unless prior permission has been granted by the Court.
Time-sensitive agreed orders (e.g., funeral furlough, release to treatment, etc.) filed with the clerk, whether electronically or in-person, should be brought to the attention of the judge's staff as soon as possible. Even where an order has been filed electronically, a pleading may not come to the attention of the judge within the necessary timeframe unless her staff is made aware that it has been filed.
Civil Cases
Parties are encouraged to attend in-person for civil matters but may appear remotely if desired. However, evidentiary hearings require in-person attendance and will not be conducted remotely.
